Since 2008, the -UAE-based renewable energy company Masdar hosts the Abu-Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) to promote green technologies and renewable energy as cornerstones for a cleaner global energy sector. This year, fund manager Creon Capital is committed as a sponsor of the World Future Energy Forum. A large delegation of specialists participates in the exhibition and forum discussion. More than 5.000 visitors are expected during the week.
Masdar Chairman sultan Ahmed Al Jaber opened the ADSW on January 12th, stating that «the UAE not only talks the talk, but walks the walk towards renewable energy. Because it is right and makes perfect economic sense». This is true for the Creon Energy Fund as well, which is invested in a waste utilization project already. The logistics subsidiary ISS Global Solutions, a joint-venture with the Investment Corporation of Dubai, in the meantime has been established as a leading provider of transport solutions for wind power plant components in Eurasia.
Green technologies and clean energy solutions are in line with the investment objectives of the Creon Energy Fund, which is regionally focused on emerging markets of Eurasia. The fund management is permanently looking for new opportunities in these segments, driven by the conviction that solutions for a clean energy sector will be demanded increasingly.
The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is expected to attract more than 33.000 visitors from all over the world. Besides the several forums on green financing, wate treatment, smart cities and future energy, various events in Masdar’s green city will become gatherings for sustainable development.
