Prof. Dr. Stefan Liebing

Stefan is a well reputed specialist on Africa, who utilizes his tremendous knowledge with a vast network. From 2012 until 2023, he has been Chairman of Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft e.V., the German-African Business Association, a prestigious industry association that gathers German investors that are active on the African continent. He also is a Past Chairman of the European Business Council on Africa and the Mediterranean (EBCAM). On the fund level, the former EnBW and Shell executive, will contribute to the development of new investment funds dedicated to sourcing of green energy in Africa.

In parallel, Professor Dr. Stefan Liebing is the owner and CEO of Conjuncta GmbH, a boutique investment and project development firm that focusses on infrastructure projects in Africa. Before his current role, Stefan Liebing was a Director of International Gas Business at EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG, one of Germany’s major utilities. He started his career with Royal Dutch Shell, working in Hamburg and their headquarters in The Hague, filling several management positions there including in Oil and Gas business development, LNG, Strategy and Government Affairs. He is a shareholder and board member in various corporates in the energy sector.

Mr. Liebing is a member of the board of Wirtschaftsrat der CDU e.V.  and also belongs to its executive committee for the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Since 2018, Mr. Liebing is the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Cameroon with responsibility for the five states in northern Germany. Furthermore, Mr Liebing is the Vice Chairman of the Center for Business and Technology in Africa e.V. at Flensburg University and has been appointed honorary Professor. He graduated in Business Administration at Mannheim University and holds a doctoral degree in political science from Duisburg University.
